A new exhibition, ‘A Perspective of Nature,’ is on display at Alpine Art & Frame in Salt Lake City, Utah. The show presents work by four painters: Sarah Ashley Peterson, Laura Hope Mason, Jodi Steen, and Matthew Hassing. Each artist explores themes of nature and its influence through contemporary art.
Gallery Director Susan Bonosconi curated the exhibition. She has a background in interior design and over ten years of experience at Alpine Art. Bonosconi asked the artists to depict peaceful moments in nature, such as hiking or observing light, and to translate these experiences into visual art for indoor spaces. The exhibition includes a range of styles, from quiet scenes to more vivid expressions, reflecting the different approaches of the artists.
Laura Hope Mason’s paintings focus on landscapes near the Great Salt Lake and the Bonneville Salt Flats. Works like ‘Toasty’ and ‘Evanescence’ use gradual color changes to show earth and sky, while ‘Powder’ and ‘Morning Glow’ depict light in cooler tones. ‘Salinity 4’ features a minimalist design inspired by the Great Salt Lake, with a color palette influenced by David Hockney…
