Woman sentenced for her role in 2021 kidnapping, murder of 25-year-old

SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — A West Valley woman faces up to life in prison for her role in the kidnapping and murder of 25-year-old Conzuelo “Nicole” Solorio-Romero in 2021.

Carolina Marquez was sentenced by a third district court judge on Monday. She was ordered to serve a minimum of two years and no more than 20 years for felony manslaughter and a minimum of six years to life for felony aggravated kidnapping.

“We mourn the loss of Nicole and sympathize with the pain that her family and loved ones have endured and will likely continue to face for the rest of their lives,” said Salt Lake County District Attorney Sim Gill. “We hope that the conclusion of this case will help our community feel safer now that a judge has determined the defendant will spend years behind bars for her heinous crimes.”…
