November’s DABS meeting mints 20+ new restaurant and bar licenses

Bar licenses

At this month’s DABS meeting, commissioners heard from two business owners affected by the devastating Main Street fire of August. Frank Paulraj of London Belle confirmed plans to rebuild, citing 2027 as the likely return date. Jason LeCates of Bourbon Group reconfirmed the details you probably saw in this story; expect White Horse back by early 2026, with Whiskey Street maybe in early 2027, or optimistically late 2026 if all the chips fall into place.

Both were seeking extensions to their bar licenses while rebuilding efforts continue. Commissioners were unanimously supportive, approving both extensions with zero fuss; though London Belle was asked to return in the Summer of 2026, simply to check in on reconstruction progress. Onto new bar licenses, and three names were granted a license as follows:

  • Coal Creek Taproom & Eatery, Cedar City
  • Engine Room Pub & Bistro, Salt Lake City
  • AC Hotel Park City, Park City

Bar licenses are now the only license type that the commission publicly announces numbers on, given that other license types are now in relatively healthy supply. Leaving November’s meeting, 27 bar licenses remain up for grabs in Utah, with one more expected to arrive in January.
