SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — Two dozen steel oil drums leaking an unknown substance were discovered near the Great Salt Lake, raising new concerns about environmental risks in an already fragile area.
A hiker first spotted the barrels late last week along the road to Stansbury Island, just off I-80. Photos and video show the drums off the side of the road, several of them oozing a yellow-orange sludge onto the ground.
