Mental health expert urges parents to watch for grooming after teacher arrest

WEST JORDAN, Utah (KUTV) — A clinical mental health expert urged parents to recognize the early signs of grooming after disturbing allegations surfaced against a local middle school teacher.

Court documents detail accusations against 40-year-old Alisha George, a teacher at Hawthorn Academy’s West Jordan campus.

Investigators said George met the alleged victim when he was 12 years old. According to police, the teen reported that the relationship began with extra attention and lunch outings before escalating and crossing serious boundaries.
