Millcreek man arrested after allegedly stabbing father out of ‘revenge’

A Millcreek man is facing attempted murder charges after he allegedly stabbed his father several times out of “revenge” during a fight over the weekend.

Dereon James Hinmon, 18, was arrested Sunday by the Unified Police Department after officers were called to a home to investigate a domestic violence incident. When officers arrived, they were told that the victim and suspect were a father and son who lived together.

The homeowner said she saw Hinmon stabbing his father in the stomach and told detectives that they had heard arguing for a majority of the evening over chores and helping around the house, and could hear Hinmon yelling, “I hate you,” and “I wish you were dead.”…
