SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — Dozens of protesters gathered outside the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) building in Salt Lake City on Monday after what attorneys and activists described as “credible reports” that ICE agents may soon begin targeted enforcement operations at the facility.
Immigration lawyers said similar operations have been reported in other states for months, but until recently, they had not been common in Utah.
They warned that arrests at immigration offices, where people attend required check-ins, interviews, or final status appointments, were becoming more frequent.
