SALT LAKE CITY — “A Charlie Brown Christmas” turned 60 years old on Tuesday, marking six decades since the first animated TV special based on Charles M. Schulz’s iconic “Peanuts” characters.
The Associated Press reported the show premiered on Dec. 9, 1965, on CBS, almost 15 years after the first Peanuts cartoon was published in newspapers on Oct. 2, 1950.
