UTAH (ABC4) — Cemeteries across the state of Utah participated in wreath-laying ceremonies on Saturday morning in support of the national “Wreaths Across America” event honoring fallen veterans.
“Wreaths across America” is a nationwide program that holds ceremonies to remember, honor, and teach citizens about sacrifices made for America. According to the “Wreaths Across America” website, the event was created by a tree farmer in Worchester, ME in 1992 and began at Arlington cemetery, but has now spread to include ceremonies at nearly 5,000 locations.
Each year since 2008, Congress has named a Sunday in December “National Wreaths Across America Day,” encouraging citizens to honor fallen Veterans by placing wreaths on their graves, stated a press release. This year’s theme is “Keep Moving Forward.”…
