SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — The Salt Lake Roller Derby community, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has been operating out of The Derby Depot in Salt Lake City, will lose access to the space in June 2026.
Roller Derby has existed in Salt Lake for a while, according to member, Ellen Shaddock, but they have operated out of The Derby Depot for 15 years. The Depot currently provides a nightly practice space for three adult roller derby teams and one junior roller derby team.
Shaddock told ABC4 that the current leaseholders of The Derby Depot have given Salt Lake Roller Derby a clause, which when activated, allows them to terminate their lease within six months.

“They have chosen to execute that clause,” said Shaddock. “We are losing The Depot in June of 2026, and that will be the last time that we can skate in this building.”…
