Shelter the Homeless in Salt Lake City, Utah, has announced a $10 million commitment from board member Gail Miller through the Larry H. & Gail Miller Family Foundation in support of homeless services across the region.
The matching award will serve as an anchor gift for the nonprofit’s new Sustainability and Enhancement Fund to bolster the operations of its Homeless Resource Centers, which provide more than 90 percent of the shelter beds in Salt Lake County. The fund will help maintain and augment programs, improve security, expand support services, and ensure long-term stability for individuals and families experiencing homelessness.
“This investment strengthens the network of services for individuals and families experiencing homelessness,” said Tyler Clancy, a state legislator who will become Utah’s State Homeless Coordinator in 2026. “Homeless Resource Centers ensure people are treated with dignity while gaining the tools to move toward stability and independence, and this gift…will help our friends and neighbors, and the surrounding community, feel safe, respected, and supported.”…
