‘Our whole family’s devastated’: Loved ones speak about man killed in South Jordan shooting

SOUTH JORDAN, Utah (ABC4) — The family of a man shot and killed in South Jordan on Saturday are speaking about the loss and what led up to the shooting.

On Dec 27, around 1:45 a.m., the South Jordan Police Department (SJPD) responded to the area of 11500 South Copperstone Drive after receiving reports of shots fired. A 34-year-old man had been shot, and officers attempted to perform lifesaving measures.

Unfortunately, the man died as a result of the gunshot wounds. 38-year-old Kevin Scarbourough and 25-year-old Zachary Prescott were both booked into jail and are facing first-degree murder charges.

Scarbourough had allegedly told Prescott to shoot the victim following a physical altercation with him, with witnesses identifying both Scarbourough and Prescott as being involved in the shooting…
