SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — Putting together a “go bag” for your home or car can help keep you prepared for emergencies at any time. Having a go bag means you’re ready to leave quickly if disaster strikes, whether that emergency happens at home or while you’re on the road.
American Red Cross of Central & Southern Utah Chapter Executive Director Benjamin Donner joined ARC Salt Lake to explain what an emergency go bag is, when it could be needed, and what essential items people should consider keeping inside.
Emergencies rarely come with a warning, and when they do, seconds matter. Donner says having essential supplies packed and ready ahead of time can make a critical difference during evacuations, vehicle emergencies, or other unexpected disruptions.
