Victim stabbed multiple times after fight in Murray apartment complex

MURRAY, Utah (KUTV) — One man was taken into custody after police claimed he stabbed a victim multiple times and lunged for an officer’s gun after being detained.

Jose Joel Guzman Melendez, 31, was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail on one count of first-degree felony attempted disarming of a police officer, second-degree felony aggravated assault, and third-degree felony obstruction of justice.

Murray Police said the incident started when officers responded to an “unknown problem” involving a possible fight “with guns and knives” at an apartment complex located near 4400 South and Brick Oven Way…
