Rezone pitch in Northpoint could flip agricultural land to industrial

A rezone application could lead to more industrial buildings going up on current agriculture land in the newly annexed Northpoint area of Salt Lake City.

Last week, Salt Lake City received a zoning amendment application that seeks to rezone two parcels totaling 7.57 acres zoned as Agricultural District (AG-2) to the recently created Northpoint Light Industrial (M-1A). The land is located at 2075 W. 2670 North, and it’s bordered by Interstate 215 to the east.

Documents submitted to the city indicate the property owner, Lone Peak Lofts LLC, doesn’t have immediate plans to develop the site, but a narrative document says a rezone would align with the Northpoint area’s future direction…
