Plans to build a 22-story building in Sugar House pulled, city council says

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — Plans to build a 22-story building on a parcel of land in Sugar House where a vacant Wells Fargo currently sits are now off, according to the Salt Lake City Council.

Harbor Bay Ventures, the Illinois-based developer that had planned to build the skyscraper, has withdrawn its original proposal, which was submitted in 2023, instead choosing to work within the new zoning rules — MU-11.

They are reportedly now working on plans to redevelop the site, located at 1100 East 2100 South, under the new zoning, which promotes commercial development in prime locations by restricting ground-floor residential uses in commercial areas…
