SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — Wednesday, visitors to Tracy Aviary got to learn about traditional plant uses within Shoshone culture at a special event.
Rios Pacheco of the Northwest Band of Shoshone Nation described the event as a plant walk and said that he was teaching about the ways plants are used in the Shoshone culture.
“We share a lot of the things that are on the land. We are respectful of the land, and we invite people to learn more of not just the land but the resources on it. The animals, how we use the water how we share these things with both animals and human beings,” he said.
