Surplus of apartments creates competition among landlords, driving rent prices down

SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — Salt Lake City has seen lower rents in recent months due to a surplus of apartments coming onto the market.

The average rent in Utah is about $1,750 a month, according to Zillow, though prices vary widely depending on location and unit type.
