3 injured after alleged DUI driver crashes into SLC auto-parts store

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Jan. 23, 2026 (Gephardt Daily) — Three people were injured after an alleged DUI driver drove his Ford Explorer through the wall of a Salt Lake City auto-parts store Friday about 6:36 p.m.

Salt Lake City Police Lt. Cody Lougy told Gephardt Daily one of the injured was struck in the parking lot of the O’Reilly Auto Parts store at 1122 S. State St., while a second victim was hit inside the store. Their injuries were considered minor.

The driver of the SUV, according to Lougy, also sustained minor injuries in the crash, but had to be given Narcan when he appeared to overdose on drugs taken prior to the incident…
