Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announces location of Puerto Montt Chile temple

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has announced the location of the Puerto Montt Chile Temple.

The new temple was announced in October 2024 by President Russell M. Nelson and will be built near Avenida Chamiza Lote 2 2015, Pelluco, Comuna de Puerto Montt in Chile. According to the Church, it will be built on a 5.8-acre site, and the temple will be nearly 18,500 square feet.

It will reportedly be the first temple in this region of the country, and the fourth operating temple for the Church in Chile.

The three other temples are the Antofagasta Chile Temple, Concepción Chile Temple and the Santiago Chile Temple. Additionally, besides the Puerto Montt Chile Temple, one other temple has been announced.
