Author donates to children’s hospital after receiving open heart surgery at 6 years old

PRICE, Utah (ABC4) — A local children’s book author is planning to make a donation to Primary Children’s Hospital to give back after everything the hospital has done for the community, including his own heart surgery when he was six years old.

Garry Motte is the author of “The Little Red Fergie,” a book about a tractor, farming, and connecting a family through generations.

As Gary described it, the book is about a tractor that ends up in a junkyard after its lifespan until a little boy finds it. The boy spends years restoring it before it’s destroyed in a tornado. His parents decide to have it restored and learn that it originally belonged to the boy’s great-great-grandfather…
