New Utah program helps drivers with autism communicate during traffic stops

SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — A new program in Utah is designed to make traffic stops safer and less stressful for people with autism.

The Big Blue Envelope Program allows drivers to hand a card to police officers during a traffic stop, alerting them that the driver has autism and may communicate or respond differently.
