Probation ordered for Utah woman who stabbed car during road rage confrontation

SALT LAKE CITY — A Utah woman has been sentenced to two years of probation after pleading guilty in a road rage case to assaulting someone in Millcreek who she thought had cut her off.

Bridget Renee Hood, 37, pleaded guilty Jan. 16 to aggravated assault, a class A misdemeanor, and was sentenced in the same hearing to one year in jail. Third District Judge James Blanch suspended that jail sentence, giving her credit for the six days she had already served and ordering probation.

A plea deal reduced the assault charge from a third-degree felony, and a second charge of criminal mischief, a class A misdemeanor, was dismissed…
