SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — As the Winter Games officially kicked off Friday in Italy, Utahns came together to celebrate the Opening Ceremony, including relighting the cauldron from the 2002 Salt Lake City Games.
Salt Lake City is hosting a free watch party outside the Salt Lake City Public Library throughout the Winter Games, and Friday kicked off opening night with watching the primetime broadcast of the Opening Ceremonies.
The event featured a performance by singer-songwriter Joshua James, other performances, a drone show, and more. There will be other events every night while the Winter Games are ongoing, and you can find out more information about the times and what to expect on the Salt Lake City website.
