SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Feb. 7, 2026 (Gephardt Daily) — The Utah Highway Patrol is investigating an overnight crash involving a Salt Lake County Sheriff K-9 vehicle and a second vehicle.
The crash occurred shortly after midnight and involved a deputy, Sgt. Andrew Battenfield, UHP, told Gephardt Daily.
“He was southbound on State Street, with his lights and siren on,” Battenfield said. “He went through the intersection at 600 South, and an eastbound car had the green lights and did not yield to his emergency lights, and they collided…
