UHP trooper crashes into stopped car on I-15 off-ramp, driver arrested for DUI

MURRAY, Utah (ABC4) — A Utah Highway Patrol (UHP) trooper crashed into a stopped car on an I-15 off-ramp in Murray early Saturday morning, according to the Utah Dept. of Public Safety. The driver of the stopped car was arrested on suspicion of DUI.

Just before 1 a.m. on Feb. 7, a UHP trooper was involved in a collision on the northbound I-15 off-ramp at 5300 South. The trooper reportedly struck a black vehicle that was stopped in a travel lane after running out of fuel.

The trooper was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after the crash. The driver of the black vehicle, a 19-year-old woman, was unharmed, police said.
