SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — A Utah firefighter was taken into custody after police reportedly found hundreds of sexually explicit images of children on his phone.
Kelly J. Carter, 51, was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail on Friday on 10 counts of second-degree felony sexual exploitation of a minor.
Carter served as a Battalion Chief for the Salt Lake City Fire Department. A Salt Lake City Fire Department spokesperson said Carter had retired in December 2025 after 25 years of service.
