Salt Lake City, Utah – Heavy snow rates topping 2 inches per hour will hammer the Wasatch and Uinta Mountains during the Wednesday morning commute, with whiteouts likely on major mountain routes.
According to the National Weather Service in Salt Lake City, a Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 5 a.m. MST Thursday for the Wasatch Mountains, Western Uinta Mountains, Wasatch Back, Central Mountains and Wasatch Plateau/Book Cliffs. Snow totals of 1 to 2 feet are expected in the Wasatch and Uintas, with up to 30 inches in the upper Cottonwoods. Park City and the Wasatch Back could see 6 to 18 inches.
