SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — A federal grand jury in Salt Lake City has indicted a 25-year-old Mexican national residing illegally in the United States on drug charges after agents seized 74,000 fentanyl pills in Utah.
Jesus Aaron Camacho Duarte, of Salt Lake City, was initially charged by complaint on February 5, 2026. According to court documents, in December 2025, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) agents received information from an undercover officer about illegal drug trafficking by Camacho Duarte. Agents conducted an undercover purchase of counterfeit oxycodone pills containing fentanyl from him. On February 4, 2026, agents observed Camacho Duarte’s vehicle, identified during their investigation, and conducted a traffic stop. A narcotics K9 indicated the presence of drugs, leading to the seizure of approximately 10,000 counterfeit oxycodone pills, which tested positive for fentanyl. Camacho Duarte was arrested.
A subsequent search of his residence resulted in the seizure of approximately 64,000 counterfeit oxycodone pills, also testing positive for fentanyl. Camacho Duarte faces charges of fentanyl distribution, possession of fentanyl, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, and possession of heroin with intent to distribute.
