South Jordan man in custody following brief SWAT standoff, shelter-in-place order

SOUTH JORDAN, Utah (KUTV) — A 22-year-old man was taken into custody after a brief standoff with SWAT teams on Wednesday evening.

The South Jordan Police Department said officers responded to a home near South Jordan Parkway and 2950 West after receiving reports that the man had violated an active protective order.

The man, who was identified as Eduardo Herrera-Arellanes, allegedly unlawfully entered the home and refused to leave. Police said the family was able to safely evacuate the home and call law enforcement…
