ER doctor credits team effort to rescue skiers caught in Big Cottonwood Canyon avalanche

SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — A good Samaritan who helped rescue two backcountry skiers caught in an avalanche on Saturday is urging caution and preparation.

Dr. David Hughes, a Colorado emergency room physician and former Utah resident, was skiing with his friend, also a physician, up Butler Fork in Big Cottonwood Canyon.
