SANDY, Utah (KUTV) — Photos of a car that may have been involved in Monday night’s shooting in Sandy were shared online by police.
Officials with the Sandy Police Department said the victim was a member of the Islamic community. In an update shared by the department, officials wrote, “We are sensitive to the time of year that this has occurred, specifically Ramadan. We are committed to providing a safe community to all the residents of Sandy, no matter their faith or background.”
According to the Sandy Police Department, the shooting took place near 700 W. 9000 South around 7:30 p.m. Multiple shots were fired before the suspect drove away.

“We are looking into every possible motive for this incident. We are also communicating with other law enforcement partners, including the FBI, to effectively and efficiently locate and arrest anyone involved in this crime.
