WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah (ABC4) — Police have made an arrest in connection with a shooting that took place in a large crowd. The suspect was only released from police supervision a few months ago.
Viliami Loumoli, 38, was arrested early Friday morning. He has been booked into the Salt Lake County Jail on charges including felony discharging a firearm, aggravated assault, and riot with a dangerous weapon, all second-degree felonies.
According to officers with the Salt Lake City Police Department, the shooting took place on Feb. 20, near 800 South and 700 West. Five people allegedly assaulted a victim during a fight in a large crowd. One of the suspects reportedly fired a round during the fight.
