Taylorsville liquor store to remain closed into March following shooting that injured two

TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (ABC4) — Following a shooting Thursday afternoon, a Taylorsville Liquor and Wine Store will be closed into March.

Shortly after 2 p.m. on February 27, an individual allegedly fired a gun outside of the State Liquor and Wine Store at 4455 South and 2700 West. He then proceeded to enter the store and fired his gun several more times.

An officer with the Department of Public Safety (DPS) was inside the store at the time and shot the armed individual. Two people, including the suspect, were shot and transported to the hospital in stable condition. Police have not disclosed the identities of either individual at this time, though they have confirmed they are both adult men.

Following the shooting, the state liquor store was closed, as were over a dozen other businesses in the area. Law enforcement officers from several different agencies responded to the scene, in addition to a DPS helicopter…
