Utah measles cases climbing over past 2 weeks as Arizona outbreak slows

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Measles cases in Utah are climbing and could be headed higher in Utah County and Salt Lake County.

Growth in the urban counties over the past two weeks has added 21 confirmed infections to the state total, which has now reached 162 since the start of the year. Including last year’s cases, Utah is up to 358, third-highest in the U.S. behind South Carolina and Texas.

But 58 of those cases have come just in the past two weeks, and the list of exposure locations is filled with schools, hospitals and medical clinics. One exposure was reported in a restaurant at Alta Ski Resort. See exposure locations by county on this page: https://epi.utah.gov/measles-response/…
