Early commuters in Murray got an unwelcome wake-up call Tuesday when an attempted robbery near Main Street turned violent, leaving one man with a head injury and neighbors hearing gunfire just after dawn.
The confrontation happened shortly before 6 a.m., when a man was attacked in what police are calling an aggravated robbery attempt. Witnesses in the area reported hearing shots as the situation escalated, according to police.
Murray Police Ask For Tips
The Murray Police Department said the victim told officers a group of four men approached him and tried to steal his property. During the encounter, one of the suspects pulled a gun and the group assaulted the man, investigators said. The suspects then took off in a beige sedan. Officers are asking anyone with surveillance footage or information from the area of Fireclay and Main Street to call 801-840-4000 and reference case number MR2026-6940, as reported by KUTV.
