SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — Operations were suspended after an employee was killed in an industrial incident at the Rio Tinto Kennecott site.
The employee, identified as 37-year-old Brian Cameli, was working on heavy equipment inside a maintenance shop at the Bingham Canyon Mine just after 5:20 a.m. on Thursday when a large boom attached to the equipment gave way and fell, striking him.
Employees at the site rushed to provide aid until first responders arrived, but Cameli died at the scene.
