Attempted murder charges filed in Taylorsville liquor store road rage shooting

TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (KUTV) — Authorities have charged a documented gang member accused of chasing a man into a Taylorsville liquor store while firing a gun at him, striking him three times.

Tyler Traveon Mhaka, 23, was charged with first-degree felony attempted murder following a road rage incident.

Officials said the incident transpired on Feb. 26, when Mhaka began honking at the car in front of him as they were stopped at a red light at 3500 South and 2700 West, where pedestrians were crossing.

The situation escalated, at which point the car in front of Mhaka turned into the parking lot of the liquor store at 4451 South and 2700 West. The man exited his car and began walking into the store, when officials said Mhaka pulled up, struck a bollard, and began firing a gun at him…
