Trooper on I-15 in Davis County arrests unlicensed, wrong-way driver for alleged DUI

KAYSVILLE, March 16, 2026 (Gephardt Daily) — A Utah Highway Patrol trooper who had heard an earlier alert to watch for a car driving slowly on its rim said he noticed a scraping sound early Sunday morning, and saw the car slowly pass by on Interstate 15.

“I heard a car emitting a grinding noise as it passed by our scene,” said a UHP trooper who was assisting another officer at a DUI scene.

“I observed the gray Nissan Altima slowly pass us, driving on its rim. The front driver side tire was completely gone and the vehicle only had a rim on that side. I caught up to the vehicle and stopped it just prior to Antelope on I-15 northbound…
