UTA prepares for construction on S-Line streetcar extension in Sugar House

SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — Construction was expected to begin soon on an extension of the Utah Transit Authority’s S-Line streetcar through Salt Lake City’s Sugar House neighborhood.

The extension will continue the streetcar line from its current endpoint at Fairmont Station toward Highland Drive and Simpson Avenue, where a future stop is planned near the Sugar House Shopping Center.

ARC Salt Lake spoke with Ombudsman Bill Knowles about what neighbors and businesses can expect as the project moves forward.
