Cooler temperatures make a return to northern Utah as we close out the week

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) —Happy Wednesday, Utah! Our Wednesday will feature mostly sunny skies and record-shattering state heat.

Daytime highs across northern Utah will warm into the low to mid 80s! Daytime highs will warm into the low to mid-90s for St. George. These numbers would likely smash previous record highs for the day. The previous records are 78° (2022) in Salt Lake City and 87° (1895) for southwest Utah.

A weak cool front moves across northern Utah on Wednesday night, bringing a bit of a cool down to the northern half of the state on Thursday. Instead of temperatures being about 20-30° above average, temps will drop back closer to about 5-15° above average. Daytime highs drop to the mid to upper 60s across northern sections of Utah. Daytime highs return to the lower 90s for southwestern Utah.

A few extra clouds will accompany this front, but otherwise, we will likely stay dry across the state through the upcoming weekend. High temperatures will begin to rebound across northern Utah this weekend, back into the mid 70s for highs, with highs falling into the mid to upper 80s across southern Utah…
