‘Potential fugitive’ apprehended after pursuit that caused road closures

An area in Salt Lake City was closed off to local traffic Tuesday afternoon as police officers and parole agents chased down a suspect.

A spokesperson for the Utah Department of Corrections said the “potential fugitive” was spotted at a gas station near 1700 South and 900 West.

The suspect was confronted by agents with Adult Probation and Parole (AP&P) and other law enforcement, then fled the scene in a vehicle. The suspect crashed into two Dept. of Corrections vehicles and one AP&P agent in the process. The suspect later hit another vehicle and was then taken into custody…
