SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — Eva Lopez Chavez has vacated her position as a council member for Salt Lake City District Four after an investigation found that she failed to keep her primary residence within the district.
An investigation by the Office of the City Attorney found that Lopez Chavez resided outside of her district during her tenure as a council member for Salt Lake City District Four.

When Lopez Chavez was elected in November 2023, and sworn into office in January 2024, she claimed that she lived in an apartment on Douglas Street in Salt Lake City.
