SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — Happy Tuesday, Utah! Expect another day of record-breaking temperatures with dry conditions persisting.
Weather today: Record-breaking warmth
Daytime highs across the Wasatch Front will warm into the low and potentially mid 90’s, with Southern Utah seeing another day of triple-digit heat. We’ll see dry conditions once again with plenty of sunshine and just a few clouds.
Weather tomorrow: 90s through Wednesday
Wednesday will be another warm one with upper 80’s and low 90’s for Northern Utah, however, St. George and portions of Southern Utah will back off into the low and mid 90’s. This will be accompanied by gusty southwest winds and low relative humidities courtesy of an incoming storm system that will impact the Pacific Northwest.
Fire weather watch
This system will bring with it the chance for high-based showers and thunderstorms that will impact our mountain ranges and a few dry thunderstorms that could create gusty outflow winds.
The combination of low relative humidities, gusty winds, dry thunderstorms, and dry fuels has led to the National Weather Service to issue a Fire Weather Watch for portions of Southwest Utah from early Wednesday afternoon until late Wednesday evening.
This will likely be upgraded to a Red Flag Warning and could expand to include more areas across the state so stay up to date on the latest.
Cooler temperatures and relief from the heat will follow the passage of this system and cold front, with temperatures across Northern Utah cooling into the low to mid 70’s by Thursday. Southern Utah will not benefit as much from this, with highs across St. George still holding steady in the low to mid 90’s…
