PHOTOS: Crews respond to house fire in Salt Lake City

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — Crews are responding to a structure fire at 950 W California Avenue.

According to the Salt Lake City Fire Department (SLCFD), they have crews responding to 950 West California Avenue for a structure fire. While a large response went to the scene, SLCFD confirmed that the fire was under control approximately twenty minutes after it was first reported.

Crews are still on scene and investigating the fire. However, a spokesperson with SLCFD confirmed to ABC4.com that the fire started in a single-family home, which has been vacant.

California Avenue is currently closed due to the firefighting operations.

Officials are asking the public to avoid the area at this time.

At this time, officials have not released any more information.
