SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — Several items found inside a time capsule gave members of the Japanese Church of Christ a new perspective on their congregation’s life from 100 years ago.
The founding members put two flags, folded up in tissue paper, into the capsule. One was a United States flag with 48 stars, and the other was a handmade and hand-stitched Japanese flag.
Both were found in excellent condition when retrieved from behind the cornerstone of the church in August of 2025.
