The temperature at the River Walk is plummeting to 13 degrees in June.
That’s because San Antonio’s first ice bar has opened beneath the Aztec Theatre at 200 River Walk. Alamo IceBar transports patrons from the winding River Walk to a subterranean oasis. Commercial grade insulation helps transform the room into a walk-in winter wonderland.
Before entering the low-temperature lounge, guests are provided hooded parkas and gloves to help stand the cold temperatures. The apparel is intended to make for a more comfortable experience while sitting in a room entirely made of frozen water — from its hand-carved icy walls to its frozen seating options.
