The shouting stopped, but San Antonio’s Pride divisions did not

Pride San Antonio’s monthly meetings no longer boil over into near-shouting matches between leaders of the nonprofit and angry crowds.

Lately, the nonprofit’s board members only raise their voices to be heard over the loud square-dancing instructors and community theater troupe that share the Woodlawn Pointe Community Center with Pride San Antonio, one of the city’s most prominent LGBTQ+ advocacy groups.

That’s a far cry from the turmoil that engulfed the organization earlier this year and threatened to detract from the organization’s hallmark Pride Month celebrations, which are slated for Saturday…
