San Antonio-based Taco Blvd has a huge following on social media, amassing nearly 500,000 followers on Instagram alone. It’s unsurprising that people noticed when the Rio Grande Valley-style taco shop closed and opened multiple locations within a few months of each other. After launching two locations along Loop 1604, Taco Blvd appears to be shifting its presence elsewhere in San Antonio.
Based on Google Reviews and social media posts, Taco Blvd’s Alamo Ranch location has been permanently closed for at least a month. It initially opened in 2021. The Blanco Road location is also closed, at least temporarily, for remodeling, according to an Instagram post from June 19. With two brick-and-mortar locations down, Taco Blvd appears to be focusing on operations closer to San Antonio’s center.
Taco Blvd apparently operates a food truck version of its other eatery at 8123 Broadway, an address shared with the seemingly shuttered Bentley’s Bar on Broadway. The local taco chain has also been working to open Taco Blvd Cantina, a sister concept in the Inspire Downtown building at 100 N. Santa Rosa St., which is still in its infancy.
All that being said, MySA was unable to reach Taco Blvd directly at any of its locations. We called the numbers listed on the restaurant’s website for the Blanco Road and Broadway locations, but neither number was in service. When we called the number listed for Taco Blvd Cantina, it turned out to be the number for the Buckle store at Rivercenter…
