A man has been arrested after authorities say he assaulted an elderly Uber driver who was giving him a ride on the far West Side.
Leonard Mermea, 41, is charged with injury to an elderly person with intent to cause bodily injury. He was booked into the Bexar County Jail on Tuesday and later released after posting a $15,000 bond.
According to an arrest affidavit, the 74-year-old driver picked up Mermea just before 2:45 a.m. June 12 on Barn Swallow Drive. Mermea had requested a ride to the 1000 block of Lion King…
